AN EMBLEMATIC ESTABLISHMENT PASSES INTO NEW HANDS
Le Gabriel, founded in 2009, was acquired at the beginning of 2019 by Château Angélus.
It thus passed into the hands of a family who are deeply attached to the region and its prestige –the de Boüard de Laforest.
“I am very happy to add a new chapter to the history of Le Gabriel. Its watchwords are conviviality, elegance and excellence -three valued principles that drive our talented team on a daily basis.”
STÉPHANIE DE BOÜARD-RIVOAL, President and CEO of Angélus
LA PLACE ROYALE
Le Gabriel is located in the middle of Bordeaux’s Place de la Bourse, a square made up of buildings of outstanding architecture facing the Garonne River. It takes its name from the architect Jacques Gabriel, who studied under Jules Hardouin-Mansart and drew up the plans for the construction of the Place de la Bourse, which took place between 1730 and 1750 under his leadership and that of his son, Ange-Jacques Gabriel, who went on to succeed him as chief architect for the king.
After the purchase of Le Logis de la Cadène in Saint-Emilion in 2013, it was only natural that Bordeaux, the capital of gastronomy and great wines, should be where Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal continued the diversification and development of the family’s activities in the fine-dining sector.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL
Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal, who also runs Château Angélus and Le Logis de la Cadène in Saint-Emilion, was immediately attracted by Le Gabriel, for which she has great ambitions.
Ably supported by a team that she got together herself, her aim is to make Le Gabriel an exclusive venue within Bordeaux’s gastronomic scene and a place where meticulous and individualised attention will be second to none.
